About Our Program

Little Beginnings is committed to providing a program that follows recommendations for best practices by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. These practices are detailed in Developmentally Appropriate Practice in Early Childhood Programs, Young Child magazine, and other publications of NAEYC. Specifically, LB has adopted the High/Scope approach as our curriculum for all age groups.

We believe that learning and playing are synonymous for the preschool-age child. Young children learn best when they have an opportunity to practice their intellectual, physical and social skills every day through activities of their own choosing in an environment carefully structured by trained staff.

It is important to note that the average age of children in each LB class is only approximate. The age at which each child enters a class will vary, consistent with LB’s developmental philosophy and space availability in the classrooms.
